Job responsibilities
Develop and implement the Company’s commercial strategy to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.
Lead business-development initiatives, market expansion and customer-acquisition strategies.
Drive portfolio growth and ensure achievement of business targets across all branches and regions.
Oversee sales, marketing, product development and customer-relationship management functions.
Identify new market opportunities and recommend innovative products and services to enhance competitiveness.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, regulators, business partners and clients.
Lead the development and execution of annual business plans, budgets and growth strategies.
Ensure effective implementation of branch-expansion and market-penetration initiatives.
Monitor branch performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve productivity and profitability.
Collaborate with the Operations, Risk, Finance and IT departments to ensure efficient delivery of commercial objectives.
Drive customer-experience initiatives and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Develop pricing strategies and business models to maximize revenue and market share.
Prepare periodic commercial-performance reports and presentations for Management and the Board.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and governance standards.
Strengthen internal controls and promote a performance-driven culture across the business.
Lead, mentor and develop commercial teams to enhance productivity and succession planning.
Identify and manage commercial risks that may affect the Company’s operations and profitability.
Implement process improvements and digital initiatives to enhance business efficiency and customer reach.
Academic qualifications and experience requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Banking or a related field from a recognized institution.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Marketing, Strategic Management or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Minimum of ten years of professional experience in Banking, Microfinance, Financial Institutions or related industries, with at least five years in senior-management positions.
Proven experience in business development, sales management, portfolio growth and strategic leadership.
Strong understanding of microfinance operations, financial products and market dynamics.
Demonstrated record of leading large teams and delivering sustainable business growth.
Excellent strategic-planning, analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications and business-intelligence or reporting systems.
