Key responsibilities
- Stay updated on regulatory changes to minimize audit findings and assist with internal audit resolution plans.

- Evaluate requests for loan restructuring and specialized financial products, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Land rent, property valuation, insurance, title deeds, and mortgages ahead of recommending Manager approval.. This as well covers verify and complete every collateralization procedures,.
- Making sure strict adherence to NBC internal credit policies and Bank of Tanzania regulatory standards.
- Carrying out fraud verification checks on every applications (identifications, signatures, supporting docs).
- Fulfill extra tasks and ad-hoc operational requirements as assigned by leadership.
- Draft and issuing loan offer letters and communicate feedback to clients via the branch network.
- Collaborate with branch staff, conduct knowledge-sharing training sessions, and support succession planning.
- Carrying out detailed financial assessments, analyze statements, credit histories, and documentation to determine creditworthiness and identify risk.
- Sanction and make informed credit decisions on Special Scheme applications inside delegated approval mandates from the Head of Retail Credit.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (Legal, Treasury, SMU, Branch teams) to maintain processing SLAs for secured loans.
- Adapt to job rotations and assist remaining Retail Credit units as operational needs dictate.
- Making sure no applications are processed for branches or customers suspended from lending.
- Carrying out credit reference checks, due diligence, and mandatory employer confirmations ahead of loan recommendation.
- Carrying out risk assessments on restructured facilities to track portfolio performance impact.
Requirements
- Openness to change and adaptability to shifting business needs.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in credit risk evaluation or a related banking environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and pressure-handling skills.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or Management Studies.
- Solid analytical, credit risk assessment, and reasoning capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and digital workplace tools.
