Role
The GMC Head is an independent position whose sole responsibility is to settle unresolved employee grievances that may have an adverse impact on the effective operation of ASAI.
The GMC Head is accountable for ensuring that both parties find the GMC mitigation process transparent, informative and thorough while adhering to policy and regulations.
She must carry out the responsibilities of the position in a manner that minimizes risks relating to staff privacy and ensures that all disclosures, relevant data and documents are handled seriously, treated as confidential and managed without fear of reprisal of any form against any employee.
She must adhere to all requirements established by the GMC-Chairperson of Group-GMC at every stage of GMC functionality.
Responsibilities
Open employee complaints or appeals and Direct Complaints.
Immediately forward all received Appeals, Direct Complaints and Complaints reported in the GMC-Entity to the GMC-Group for further guidance and ensure adherence to GMC-Group guidelines during the mitigation process.
Maintain confidentiality in GMC activities and follow the respective Entity manuals and Country Labour Law to uphold justice.
Send the following monthly GMC reports in the required format within the allotted time:
“Monthly Meeting & Appeal Report Format” (Annex-1): Two monthly meeting reports, in accordance with the “Monthly Meeting & Appeal Report Format” (Annex-1), must be sent to the GMC-Group. These reports concern the scrutiny and summarization of received complaints and appeals.
“Monthly Complaints follow-up report” (Annex-3): This report contains the updated status of employees’ complaints.
“Punishment Report” (Annex-2): This report scrutinizes whether the actions taken by management against staff for offences comply with the respective entity’s manual.
“Quarterly reports on Appeals & Direct complaints”: This report covers the final status of received Appeals and Direct Complaints.
Manual review: Scrutinize differences in key practices between the HR manual and Labour Law regarding matters such as termination, demotion, promotion, withheld increments, penalties, transfers and others.
Lead GMC sessions as the resource person in orientation programmes, training sessions, exit interviews and online training sessions arranged by the HR department of the respective entity.
Follow and adhere to the GMC policy, procedure and instructions of the Group GMC-Chairperson.
Conduct physical visits to the respective Entity branches concerning a grievance, when required, after receiving guidance or instructions from the Group-GMC.
Education and skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Management, Law or a related field.
Extensive experience of 10–15 years in managerial roles; priority is given to a retired female professional.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
A record of delivering excellent results in leadership roles and commanding respect.
Ability to analyse data and identify trends in staff complaints.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations of the respective entity.
