Job Summary
To advise customers and process banking transactions accurately and timeously through the execution of predefined objectives as per agreed standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Job Description
Business Management (50%)
Develop and agree income targets by products and for retail banking department.
Develop the local product pricing strategy and obtain approvals as required prior to communicating the details.
Complete product research, development and implementation.
Prepare monthly tariff reports to identify errors and deviations (Revenue leakages).
Interface with other key stakeholders of the bank such as Operations, Retail Credits and Marketing daily to ensure there is a broad understanding of the product processing requirements and frictionless sales activities for retail products.
Responsible for product balance sheet growth linked to the STP growth targets.
Product Campaigns and product sales activations to support sales channels.
Product – MTP growth planning and margin forecasting per products
Monthly product income line reviews linked to balance sheet and P&L
Develop and Execute right Product pricing strategies.
Competitor product review and market intelligence
Product enhancements through improvement on features and benefits
Build Innovative market leading solutions related to retail liabilities, marketing and communication strategies.
Conduct formal training on products as and when required.
Customer product awareness drive through various means include social media communications, above the line campaigns as well as below the line campaigns.
Product Development & Implementations (30%)
Building business case and seeking relevant approvals for new liability products
Work in collaboration with project team to ensure all new products undergo SIT & UAT tests before implementation and post implementation reviews.
Support Head of Retail Products on implementation of new liability products
Responsible to perform liability product enhancements required for the existing products Engage with internal and external stakeholders to generate sales for liability products.
Responsible on steering all activities required as per Product Risk Governance forum process for liability products
Contribute towards continuous improvement efforts or initiatives for liability products.
Technical Support, Stakeholders Engagements & Trainings (10%)
Provide feedback to retail business on local competitor product activity
Liaise with Head of Product and people function to support on designing and delivery of appropriate training and give input into sales strategies.
Complaint Resolution through attending liability related complaints channelled through customer service unit.
Liaise with Head of Product and Technology team to address all system issues related to retail liability products.
Liaise with Head of Product and MCA team to ensure channels and websites they display appropriate products and services for retail liability products including pricing (Tariff guides)
Monitor adherence to agreed sales processes by conducting regular walk-through audits and checking documentation requirements.
Design appropriate product training needs or skills gaps and ensure that the local Learning and Development team are made aware of the training needs that support products uptake and sales skills.
Risk and Control Objective (10%)
Report any risk event immediately when you become aware off.
Understanding of own role in the end-to-end processes in which you play a part, including applicable risks and controls.
Adhere to Absa’s policies and procedures applicable to own role, demonstrating sound judgment and responsible risk management.
Keep up to date on all regulatory changes and can articulate the impact to the Business, be well informed on the industry thinking in relations to consumer behaviours.
All mandatory training completed to deadline.
Education
National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
