Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer, the Driver provides reliable, cost-effective, and safe driving services for UNESCO staff, visiting officials, and project personnel. The position demands high attention to road safety, adherence to UN security protocols, and basic mechanical maintenance.

Transport & Logistics: Drive official vehicles for local assignments, airport transfers, field trips, and diplomatic visits; assist with customs and basic airport clearance formalities.

Vehicle Maintenance & Log Keeping: Ensure daily vehicle checks (oil, tires, brakes, water levels), keep vehicles clean, maintain accurate daily mileage logs, and schedule timely servicing at designated workshops.

Documentation & Safety: Maintain required on-board documents (insurance, registration, office directory, first aid kit, spare parts); operate HF/VHF radio and satellite phones; report accidents immediately.

Administrative Support: Assist with office deliveries, collection of mail, document filing, photocopying, binding, and bill payments when not actively driving.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Minimum High School Certificate (Secondary Education) with a valid Tanzanian Driver’s License. Driver Vacancy at UNESCO

Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) certification from a recognized institution is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant professional driving experience with clean driving records.
