Role Overview & Strategic Purpose
The Head of Credit Administration provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for DTB Tanzania’s Credit Administration division. The role ensures the seamless execution of credit transactions, enforces robust documentation and security perfection controls, oversees loan disbursements, manages collateral custody, and ensures full compliance with statutory regulations and internal credit policies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Credit Administration Leadership: Drive the end-to-end implementation and execution of all approved commercial and retail credit facilities.

Pre-Disbursement & Security Perfection: Verify full completion of conditions precedent, credit documentation, legal perfection, registration, and safe custody of collateral securities prior to line activation.

Disbursement Control: Authorize loan disbursements and credit releases within delegated authority limits.

Covenant Monitoring & Exception Management: Monitor compliance with loan covenants, manage exception registers, and systematically escalate breaches, documentation waivers, or deferred conditions.

Regulatory Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns, including filings for the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), Credit Reference Bureaus (CRB), and internal risk committees.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Qualifications: CPA, ACCA, CFA, Certified Banker (CIB), or equivalent professional certifications are an added advantage.

Work Experience:
-
Minimum of 10 years of relevant banking experience in Credit Administration, Credit Operations, or Credit Risk.

Minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

Technical & Core Competencies:

Deep expertise in collateral administration, legal security documentation, covenant tracking, and BoT/CRB regulatory frameworks.

Strategic analytical mindset, high accountability, and proven team leadership capabilities.
