The Leaf Quality & Operations Director leads the end-to-end Leaf function in Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

Leaf Quality & Operations Director.
Procurement & Buying: Lead green leaf purchasing across buying stations and market floors; enforce internal classifications and external grading rules.
EHS & Compliance: Enforce EHS standards, sustainability practices (SRP/MAS/CPA), and hazard identification controls across operational sites.
Interviews & Offer.
Application Submission.
Processing & Logistics: Oversee blending specifications, processing runs, warehousing, inventory management (SAP/Leaf Point), and shipping.
Application Window: July 23, 2026 - August 05, 2026.
Experience: 8-10+ years in the tobacco industry (buying, processing, logistics, leaf production) with at least 8 years in a management role.
Team Leadership: Manage direct/indirect teams, drive talent development, and cultivate a strong pipeline inside the Leaf division.
Strategic Planning: Formulate and execute Annual Strategic Plans (ASP), volume targets, pricing strategies, market-floor tactics, and yield projections.
Assessment Tests.
Includes green leaf procurement, buying locations, classification, warehousing, processing, quality assurance, inventory, and logistics.
Position Overview.
Education: University degree in Agriculture or a related operational field.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Agronomy, Finance, Processing, and JTI Global HQ to align cross-departmental operations.
You will drive strategic planning, cost efficiency, and performance KPIs while building high-performing teams and ensuring strict adherence to global EHS and quality standards.
Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office and operational software (SAP, BW, Leaf Point).
Core Competencies: Fluent in English; strong track record in strategic planning, large-scale team leadership, EHS management, and quick operational decision-making.
Phone Screening (with Talent Advisor).
Role Level: Senior Leadership (complete-Time).
Quality & Cost Control: Monitor PQI, quality index, price stability, and yield while identifying cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
