Job Purpose
Responsible for the end-to-end coordination, preparation, review, validation, and timely submission of accurate and compliant regulatory reports to the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
The role ensures that all reporting activities are performed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and established reporting timelines, while proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen reporting controls, enhance data quality, improve process efficiency, and support continuous improvement across the regulatory reporting function.
Main Responsibilities
Regulatory and Financial Reporting
Manage the preparation and submission of BOT reports (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly) in line with regulatory timelines and requirements.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Publication reports as per required Timeline.
Interpret new regulatory reporting requirements and collaborate with Compliance to develop appropriate reporting templates.
Monitor changes in BOT regulations and IFRS standards, assess impact, and ensure timely implementation.
Keep abreast of the industry, regulatory, and accounting developments. Apply solid knowledge of Finance/accounting concepts and principles to ensure accurate Regulatory Reporting filings. Review new regulatory reporting requirements and IFRS updates, to determine the impact on the Regulatory Report filings. Continually monitor developments in the Bank of Tanzania Reporting Regulations and ensure implementation and meeting the reporting requirements.
Lead/participate in Regulatory exams, internal audits and external audits. Maintain effective and professional relationships with regulators, internal and external auditors.
Work and partner with various areas across the Bank including Treasury, Credit, Operations, Risk, Finance Business Partners, Risk and Compliance, Treasury, Risk, Accounting Policy, and Financial Analysis to maintain high level of quality and accuracy of the report filings. Maintain effective working relationships.
Participate fully to ensure Group and subsidiary financial statements and annual reports are prepared in accordance with the Bank/group policies, regulatory requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other local and international reporting standards.
Automation & Process Improvement
Drive full automation of regulatory reports through collaboration with Technology and BI teams.
Lead initiatives to improve data quality, strengthen controls, and enhance reporting accuracy.
Assist in identifying and implementing process efficiencies across reporting functions.
Stakeholders Engagement
Provide Regulatory reports to internal departments in agreed formats and timelines.
Maintain effective working relationships with Treasury, Credit, Operations, Risk, Finance Business Partners, and Compliance teams.
Participate in Regulatory examinations, Internal audits, and External audits, ensuring professional engagement with auditors and regulators.
Financial Analysis & Controls
Review and Analyze Trial balances to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Apply sound accounting principles and regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance in all filings.
Escalate non-compliance issues or potential operational risks to the line manager.
Projects & Ad-hoc Support
Participate in special projects, system implementations, and data sourcing initiatives related to regulatory reporting.
Support ad-hoc reports/information requests and contribute to cross-functional projects as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements
Business understanding of financial reporting requirements

Strong analytical, technical, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to develop effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of groups across the bank as well as external auditors and regulators.
Technology savvy – Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
Must be a holder of CPA/ACCA
Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Management and Administration is an added advantage
Minimum 3 years of accounting and financial analysis/reporting experience with exposure to Regulatory and financial reporting and analysis.
