Role Overview

Flashnet Tanzania is seeking an experienced ISP Network Administrator to oversee the design, deployment, and day-to-day maintenance of its core, aggregation, and edge network infrastructure. The primary focus of this role is to maintain high network availability, manage routing and subscriber management systems (BNG), implement security protocols, and support ISP infrastructure scalability.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Core & Edge Infrastructure: Manage core, aggregation, and access layer networks, including multi-vendor routers, switches, and Broadband Network Gateways (BNG).
Routing & Protocols: Implement, optimize, and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS protocols across multi-vendor network environments.
Multi-Vendor Configuration: Configure, maintain, and support hardware from Juniper, Huawei, Cisco, and MikroTik.
Subscriber Management & BNG: Administer Broadband Network Gateways (BNG) for subscriber authentication (PPPoE/DHCP), bandwidth provisioning, and Quality of Service (QoS) enforcement.
Network Monitoring & Security: Monitor traffic performance, manage system upgrades, enforce Access Control Lists (ACLs), administer RADIUS/AAA servers, and deploy DDoS mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
Work Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer in an ISP or telecommunications environment.
Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, IP addressing, VLAN structuring, BNG deployments, and multi-vendor routing/switching configurations.
Professional Certifications (Preferred): Active professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, HCIA/HCIP, or MTCNA/MTCRE.
