Role Purpose
The Media Monitoring & Business Development Support Intern serves in a hybrid capacity bridging media analysis and commercial operations. The role focuses on converting raw media coverage across multiple channels into client-ready analytical reports, while providing key administrative, research, and proposal support to the Business Development Lead.
Key Responsibilities

Media Monitoring & Reporting:
-
Compile and analyze daily and weekly media monitoring data across client accounts (print, broadcast, online, and social media).

Measure and track coverage volume, tonality, share of voice, and Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE).

Draft clear, precise, bilingual summaries and comprehensive client reports in Swahili and English.

Maintain standardized reporting templates and meet strict delivery deadlines.

Business Development Support:

Assist the Business Development Lead in drafting, formatting, and refining pitch proposals and presentations.

Conduct targeted market, client, and sector research to enrich sales and pitch materials.

Manage meeting schedules, track prospective client leads, and handle follow-up communications.

Update and maintain pipeline status records for weekly executive reporting.

Candidate Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience:
-
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Mass Media, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 1+ years of experience in PR, media, communications, or business development support is preferred. (High-potential entry-level applicants are also encouraged to apply).
Core Skills & Language:
-
Bilingual Proficiency: Exceptional written and spoken command of both English and Swahili.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with digital media monitoring tools is a distinct advantage.

Core Traits: High attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, passion for current affairs/media trends, and excellent organizational/multitasking skills.
